EMERGE! Brings Resources to Artists in Racine
Mahogany Gallery and Mahogany Black Arts & Cultural Center are thrilled to announce the launch of the EMERGE Artist Development Fellowship program. This innovative 8-week initiative aims to support and elevate the careers and practices of creatives of color in the arts.
The EMERGE Artist Development Fellowship program is designed to help artists take their careers to the next level by providing them with structured mentorship, resources, and opportunities to exhibit their new works. The program will also pay artists $1,500 for the creation of their works, providing them with a much-needed ECONOMIC FOUNDATION FOR SUCCESS.
"We are excited to launch the EMERGE program, which will be a game changer for the community of Racine's network of artists," says Scott Terry, creator of EMERGE and CEO of Mahogany Black Arts & Cultural Center. "This program will help provide an economic floor to launch and grow art practices, and we are thrilled to be able to support creatives of color in this way."
The program is open to artists of all disciplines and backgrounds who are based in the Racine area. Participants will have access to a diverse network of mentors, including artists, curators, and other arts professionals who will provide guidance and structured support throughout the program.
"We believe that the arts have the power to transform communities and create positive change, and we are committed to supporting and uplifting creatives of color in the arts," says Terry. "We are excited to see the impact that the EMERGE program will have on our local arts community and beyond."
