EMERGE Artist Fellowship Show 'Identity,' Opens with Reception on May 25

Racine, WI, April 29, 2024 — Mahogany Gallery in connection with Mahogany Black Arts & Cultural Center, is pleased to announce the opening of the EMERGE Artist Fellowship Show, featuring a captivating collection of artwork centered on the theme of "Identity." The exhibition explores the unique characteristics that define a person, reflecting an individual’s sense of self and asking the profound question: "Creatively, who are you?" The show highlights the works of EMERGE Artist Fellowship participants, a group of emerging artists selected for their unique voices and diverse perspectives.

Each artist brings their own interpretation of identity, resulting in a diverse and thought-provoking exhibit that will resonate with audiences of all backgrounds. The opening reception will take place on SAturday, May 25 from 1pm until 4pm at Mahogany Gallery, providing an opportunity to meet the artists, experience the art, and engage in conversations about identity, culture, and personal expression. Light refreshments will be served, and the event is free and open to the public. The "Identity" show will run from May 25 through July 1, offering visitors a chance to explore a range of artistic mediums and styles, including painting, sculpture, photography, and mixed media.
