Mahogany Gallery Completes Big Haul

Mahogany Gallery announces our latest venture to create a central city, outdoor urban garden and art oasis.  A first in the neighborhood of Uptown Racine…

We’re excited to create a beautiful, outdoor, urban garden oasis in Uptown Racine.

The garden will feature murals and art in the style of iconic Black artist Romare Bearden. In addition the garden oasis will be an outdoor space for live music, art and cultural events.

The Garden
The garden will feature raised garden beds that will cultivate edible flowers, plants and vegetables for neighborhood residents.

The Big Haul
This event consisted of removing garbage, weeds, and the large bushes. The vines were also cleared for the mural that will be painted.

Thank you to all the volunteers who helped, your assistance was instrumental to the big haul’s completion!

What’s Next? August 6th is our next important date for the garden. The Plant and Paint Party will contain arts and crafts, food and beverages, completing landscaping, and community planting. Be sure to save the date!
