Juneteenth Art Show Feature - KOBI
Our current exhibition JUNETEENTH 2022: A RETROSPECTIVE features KOBI, a conceptual Liberian/Ghanaian Photographer and Filmmaker. He obtained his BFA in Integrated Media and Film production from St. Cloud State University. KOBI is a current Jerome Fellow and former member of Public Functionary. He believes that the art we make is an extension of who we were, who we are and who we want to become. KOBI’s artistry has evolved from one about reparation and become more about the preservation and restoration of his self-identity and the identity of black people. KOBI uses Film making and Analogue Photography as a tool to display his trauma and create a space for healing through conversations about acceptance and accountability.
